Unique paintings and unique artists
The history of Swedish art includes several well-known names. Two of them are Carl Larsson and Anders Zorn, who, in addition to being colleagues and friends, put Sweden on the art map with their portraits of people—including bathing women and children playing around their family home in Sundborn.
Larsson and Zorn were part of a trio along with Bruno Liljefors, who gained popularity for his depictions of animals and nature, often birds. His paintings were as lifelike as photographs and frequently depicted animals in motion. Liljefors was also internationally renowned, and in the early 20th century he was a member of the Berlin Academy of Arts.
